Charlotte Market Update

This is a brief report covering the sales data from August 6, 2007 - Sept 5, 2007 according to the Charlotte Regional Realtors Association.

  • Average closing price - $241,323 which is an 3.9% increase compared to the same period last year.
  • Residential closings reported decreased 10.2% compared to the same period last year.
  • Days on Market - 66% sold in 120 days or less, which is slightly lower than last year where 67% sold in 120 or less.
  • Residential contracts reported decreased 16.3% compared to the same period last year.

The market here is still very good based on these numbers.  Although closings are down the appreciation is close to 4%.  Another positive is that homes in the region are selling in roughly the same amount of time. Very nice!

Here is video taken from ABC news this summer that describes the Charlotte market in further detail. If you haven't had the chance to view this video please take a few minutes to enjoy it!  Click here: ABC News
